Keeaumoku Kapu, leads Na ‘Aikane o Maui, which became the center for residential relief from the fires and flooding that has recently plagued the Maui’s West Side communities.
Mr. Kapu is also CEO of Maui Aha Moku, the bottom to top, people-centric system of land and ocean resource management based on site-specific traditional and generational knowledge.
Mr. Kapu is a candidate for the Maui seat of OHA, the Office of Hawaiian Affairs, a race for which all Maui voters can cast ballots in the November general election.
Kapu proposes ways that the County of Maui can better coordinate and serve the diverse needs of its residents, including those living traditional ways on Crown Lands.
