Gurry’s Fish Waste to Fertilizer Process

Gurry Investments, a Boston-based investment firm established in 2000, is using its technology to produce organic fertilizer using fish waste.

Now there’s a Grant in the UK, The Seafood Innovation Fund https://www.seafoodinnovation.fund which is offering up to a 250K grant to companies that have an innovative product or service that can benefit the UK Seafood Industry.

To apply for the grant we are looking for a UK or EU partner who is interested in supporting or even distributing the natural farm inputs the Gurry Process produces.

Might you have any such contacts in the UK or EU?

The fund is administered by the Centre for Environment, Fisheries and Aquaculture Science (CEFAS) on behalf of the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra). https://www.cefas.co.uk/

£10 Million to support seafood Research & Innovation. They are accepting applications until 12 noon on 26 June 2020, in just 6 weeks.

The benefits of the Gurry Process are already well documented technically and financially, so it won’t be difficult to create the proposal, we just need a UK or EU partner willing to submit it.

CEFAS may be able to match us up with sources of fish waste in the UK or EU once we are able to submit an application.

The Gurry process fits well with the Fund’s concepts of Collaboration, Sustainability and Innovation.
