It sad how big corporations are allowed to contaminate our land because they have the money. I was born and raised on Oahu, grew up in Kaneohe where the air and water were clean. As an adult I moved to the Leeward coast where PIneapples and sugarcane were grown. I watch the cane fields disappear & roads with residential communities developed and change our island forever. Agriculture faded out but All the chemicals were left in our soil & they also seeped into our water tablet. The naturally filtered water that was once clean and pure is only a memory. So many plantation families have lost loved ones, to cancer and too many Hawaiians have also died. In the 80’s subdivisions were built in Kunia and they found women were having miscarriages & the children were born with birth defects. There also is a high incidence of women with breast cancer, living on the Leeward coast of Oahu. I Honestly Believe, It is not a coincidence, the chemicals are in our water! How do we stop these Corporations from contaminating our home.
